Phishing Alert: January 5, 2007 - A fraudulent email is being circulated claiming to be from USA Federal Credit Union.

 

The member is urged to follow the link provided in the email as part of USA Federal's "Multi-Factor Authentication online security upgrade". Be aware that variations of this fraudulent message may exist.

 

If a member clicks the link embedded in this fraudulent email, they are taken to a web site designed to look like the USA Federal Home Page and are asked to log into QuickConnect Online as part of the online Multi-Factor Authentication security upgrade process.

 

If you receive this email or a similar e-mail, do not reply or click on any of the links or buttons contained in the message. The best way to be certain you are accessing the USA Federal web site is to type the web address directly into the address bar of your browser window (as pictured below).

 

 

USA Federal is in fact upgrading its systems to provide members with tighter online security. Official information on the upgrade is being sent to members as a series of communication pieces (direct mailings and newsletter articles).

 

Remember, the best way to be certain you are accessing the official USA Federal web site is to type the web address directly into the address bar of your browser window (as pictured above).

 

If you have received or responded to this fraudulent message, contact USA Federal immediately.

 

Remember:

Never provide personal or account information in response to any unsolicited request (by email or by phone).
Beware of any unsolicited email that threatens to close or suspend your account(s) or online account access.
Beware of any unsolicited email that requests you provide personal account information that USA Federal should already know.
