San Diego, Calif., January 24, 2007 – Mary Cunningham, President/CEO of San Diego-based USA Federal Credit Union, was elected chairman of the prestigious Western CUNA Management School (WMCS) board of trustees.

 

The school is one of the most highly regarded of the four regional schools for advanced education and training of credit union management professionals. It is sponsored by leagues of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). The board is made up of top executives or officials from League-affiliated credit unions, two League presidents, the WCMS president, and WCMS provost.

 

Cunningham joined the WCMS board in 2005. She has been involved in the credit union movement for more than 30 years, and CEO of USA FCU since September 2001.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Previously, she was CEO of CUNA CU in Madison, WI. She is a certified credit union executive, a credit union development educator, National Credit Union Foundation board chairman, and serves on the California Credit Union League’s Shapiro Group advisory committee and Richard Myles Johnson Foundation board of directors. She is a past chairman of CUES and a past member of the Filene Research Council. Cunningham taught at CUNA Management School in Madison for six years while serving as CEO of CUNA CU.

WCMS is sponsored by the leagues of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming in cooperation with Pomona College in Claremont, CA. Graduates who have developed their skills and knowledge at the school occupy positions of leadership and responsibility at some of the nation’s leading credit unions.
