USA Federal Sponsors Operations Homefront Military Christmas Fund

San Diego, Calif., December 8, 2006 – USA Federal Credit Union and its employees are stepping up to support US military families during the Christmas Season through Operation Homefront.

“We want to help make this holiday a brighter one for the families of those who serve and protect our nation,” said Mary Cunningham, President/CEO of USA Federal Credit Union, “We are matching dollar for dollar all employee contributions up to $2,500 with all money going to military families thru Operation Homefront in San Diego.”

The motto of Operation Homefront is “Supporting our troops by helping the families they leave behind.” Operation Homefront - San Diego is a local nonprofit that provides emergency support and morale to our military troops, the families they leave behind during deployment and wounded warriors when they return home. With 26 chapters nationwide, Operation Homefront supports our nation's troops by allowing military personnel to focus on the demands of their duties abroad.

Military families can find themselves in difficult situations. Sometimes they do not have the necessary resources to get family issues resolved, and they likely do not have any local family members to turn to in their time of need. Deployments can be a very lonely and stressful time for families left behind. Operation Homefront, with the help of the San Diego community, is there to be that “extended family” when difficult times arise.
