USA Federal Credit Union Now Accepting Applications for

2006 Martin P. Cassell Scholarship Program

San Diego, Calif., January 11, 2006 – USA Federal Credit Union, with international headquarters in San Diego, has announced it is now accepting applications for the 2006 Martin P. Cassell Scholarship Program that offers $7,500 in scholarships. Postmark deadline for applications is March 15, 2006.

 

Five, $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to college-bound, graduating seniors, according to Mary Cunningham, USA Federal President and CEO. Recipients will be chosen by
USA Federal’s Member Relations Committee based on involvement in community activities and academic achievement, she said. Applicants must submit an essay that discusses future personal goals and the life-long benefits of pursuing higher education.

 

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be planning to attend college and either have been a member of USA Federal Credit Union or have a parent who has been a member of USA Federal Credit Union for one year prior to March 15, 2006. Recipients of the scholarships will be notified before the end of the school year.

 

The scholarship program is named after Martin P. Cassell, who passed away in 2000 after serving as USA Federal’s President and CEO for five years.
